Dryer Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair electric and gas dryers in homes, and the fix usually starts with wet towels after two full cycles. Dryers break in a handful of predictable ways: a snapped belt, worn drum rollers, a burned-out heating element, or a thermal fuse tripped by a clogged vent line. Gas models add igniters, flame sensors, and valve coils. We come out, pull the panel, test the parts under power, and tell you plainly what broke and whether the machine is worth fixing. Since we install appliances too, we will say so honestly if replacement makes more sense than a rebuild. Well-water homes and post-storm power blips give us extra things to check. Call us and describe the noise or the smell. That narrows it fast.

Dryer Repair — residential dryer being serviced

The dryer symptoms we hear most

  • It runs but the clothes stay damp Heating element, thermal fuse, or a vent choked with lint
  • Screeching every time the drum turns Worn rollers, a dry idler pulley, or a failing rear bearing
  • Motor hums, drum sits still Broken belt, or a seized pulley holding the drum
  • Won't start when I press the button Door switch, start switch, or an open thermal cutoff
  • Smells hot, almost like burning Lint packed near the element or a blocked exhaust run

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Clean the lint screen and check for a fine film that blocks airflow even when the screen looks empty.
  • 2Look behind the dryer and make sure the vent hose is not crushed flat against the wall.
  • 3Press the door firmly closed and listen for the click of the door switch before the cycle starts.
  • 4Check the breaker panel. An electric dryer can lose half its power and still tumble without heat.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Describe what you hear, see, or smell. Grinding, leaking, no heat, an error code on the panel. Those details let us load likely parts on the van before we ever pull into your driveway.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose in person

Our technician tests the machine, checks power and water lines, and finds the part that actually failed. Well-water sediment and clogged valves fool a lot of guesswork. We confirm the cause before touching a wrench.

  3. Step 3

    Fix it or swap it

You get the honest read. Some machines need one part and have years left in them. Others are worn past sense. Because we also install, we can set the replacement level and connected on the same visit.

Dryer Repair — quick answers

Why does my dryer take three cycles to dry a load?

Nearly always airflow. Lint builds inside the vent duct, the moist air cannot get out, and clothes stay damp. A weak heating element or a failing cycling thermostat does the same thing. We test heat output and airflow together.

Is a loud dryer safe to keep using?

A squeal usually means the rollers or the idler pulley are wearing down. Running it will not start a fire, but metal grinding on metal can damage the drum. Better to stop and have it looked at before the repair grows.

Should I repair this dryer or replace it?

Depends on the part and the age of the machine. Belts, rollers, fuses, and igniters are routine fixes worth doing. A failed motor or a rusted drum on an older unit changes the math. We install too, so we will tell you straight.

Do you work on gas dryers?

Yes. Gas models fail most often at the igniter, the flame sensor, or the gas valve coils. The symptoms look identical to an electric heat failure, meaning the drum tumbles with no warmth. We test the ignition sequence to find which link broke.

Can well water affect my dryer?

Not directly, but mineral-heavy wash water leaves residue in fabric that sheds as heavier lint. That lint packs the screen and the vent faster. Homes on wells often need vent cleaning more often than city-water homes do.

My dryer quit after a storm. What happened?

Power surges and brownouts during tornado season can knock out control boards, thermal fuses, or one leg of a 240-volt circuit. The drum may still spin with no heat. We check the board and the fuses before replacing anything larger.

Why homeowners call us

  • Two families, one crewWe are not a call center routing tickets to strangers. The person answering the phone knows the technicians by name, and you get the same small group of hands in your kitchen and laundry room every time.
  • Straight swap-vs-fix talkInstallers see what breaks in year two. Repair techs see what lasts a decade. We do both, so we will tell you when a repair makes sense and when your money belongs in a new machine instead.
  • Storm season readyTornado season brings surges, outages, and flooded utility rooms. Control boards fry, and motors seize after water sits. We stock common boards and dry-run every machine before we leave, so you are not calling us back next week.
  • Well water experienceSediment and hard minerals wreck inlet valves, dishwasher jets, and ice makers. We see it constantly out past the city lines. We clean, we replace, and we show you the filter habit that keeps the same failure from coming back.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — often on the phone.
