Dryer Vent Cleaning & Repair — Book a Visit Today
We clean and repair dryer vents, and that job starts at the wall behind your dryer. Lint does not stay in the trap. It rides the duct, sticks to the bends, and packs in tight until hot air has nowhere to go. Then loads take two or three cycles, the laundry room turns into a sauna, and the dryer shuts itself off on a thermal limit. On a visit we pull the dryer out, disconnect the transition hose, and scope the run all the way to the outside hood. We brush and vacuum the full length, check the flapper, and look for crushed foil, joints that came apart inside a wall cavity, or a bird nest at the cap. Damaged sections get replaced with rigid metal. Call us and tell us how much the drying time has crept up.

The dryer vent cleaning & symptoms we hear most
- Towels are still damp after two full cycles Airflow choked off by packed lint or a crushed section of duct
- The laundry room feels like a sauna when the dryer runs Duct came loose or is leaking hot moist air back into the house
- Burning smell every time we dry a load Lint packed against the heating element, or a scorched duct interior
- The dryer quits partway through and restarts later Thermal cutoff tripping because the exhaust is blocked
- No air blowing out of the vent hood outside Stuck flapper, nesting, or a collapsed run between wall and cap
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Unplug the dryer, pull the lint screen, and run water over it. If the water beads up, softener film is sealing the mesh.
- 2Step outside while a load runs and feel the vent hood for strong warm air.
- 3Look behind the dryer for a foil hose that is kinked, mashed against the wall, or pulled loose at a clamp.
- 4Check the outside flapper for a nest, paint that sealed it shut, or a screen somebody added that lint now clogs.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Describe what you hear, see, or smell. Grinding, leaking, no heat, an error code on the panel. Those details let us load likely parts on the van before we ever pull into your driveway.
- Step 2
We diagnose in person
Our technician tests the machine, checks power and water lines, and finds the part that actually failed. Well-water sediment and clogged valves fool a lot of guesswork. We confirm the cause before touching a wrench.
- Step 3
Fix it or swap it
You get the honest read. Some machines need one part and have years left in them. Others are worn past sense. Because we also install, we can set the replacement level and connected on the same visit.

Dryer Vent Cleaning & Repair — quick answers
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
About once a year for most households. Long duct runs, pets in the house, or laundry every day can push that sooner. If drying time has doubled since last season, do not wait on the calendar.
Can a clogged vent actually start a fire?
Yes. Lint is fuel, and trapped heat gives it somewhere to ignite. A blocked exhaust also cooks the dryer's own parts. Clearing the run protects the house and the machine both.
Is flexible foil duct a problem?
It sags, it kinks, and every ridge catches lint. Rigid or semi-rigid metal moves air better and cleans out easier. When we replace a damaged run, metal is what goes back in.
My vent goes up through the roof. Can that be cleaned?
It can. Long vertical runs build up faster because lint falls back down. We work the brush through from the dryer end and clear the cap so the flapper swings free again.
Should I replace the dryer instead of fixing the vent?
Often the dryer is fine and the duct is what is wrong. We check both before you spend a dime on a new machine. If the dryer itself is going, we will say so.
Do you handle the vent hood on the exterior wall?
We do. Loose caps, missing flappers, nests behind the louvers, we see all of it on service calls. Swapping out a bad hood is usually quick and you notice the airflow right away.

Why homeowners call us
- Two families, one crewWe are not a call center routing tickets to strangers. The person answering the phone knows the technicians by name, and you get the same small group of hands in your kitchen and laundry room every time.
- Straight swap-vs-fix talkInstallers see what breaks in year two. Repair techs see what lasts a decade. We do both, so we will tell you when a repair makes sense and when your money belongs in a new machine instead.
- Storm season readyTornado season brings surges, outages, and flooded utility rooms. Control boards fry, and motors seize after water sits. We stock common boards and dry-run every machine before we leave, so you are not calling us back next week.
- Well water experienceSediment and hard minerals wreck inlet valves, dishwasher jets, and ice makers. We see it constantly out past the city lines. We clean, we replace, and we show you the filter habit that keeps the same failure from coming back.
